BILL CULLINS: Six Hours of the Dinosaur is time well spent
— If you enjoy mountain biking, there's an upcoming event you don't want to miss. I repeat — don't miss this event!I'm talking about the Six Hours of the Dinosaur mountain bike race Oct. 15 at San Angelo State Park.
The six-hour race is a joint effort of the San Angelo Bicycle Association and the Multisport Adventure Company, a local grass-roots cycling team sponsored by Specialized Bicycles and Concho Bike.
You should join them. In fact, it'll be a big cycling party that's open to everyone, so consider this an invitation to join in on the fun.
Beginner to expert, male and female, old and young — this event is for you. The race will challenge participants, but if you've done a little mountain biking on off-road trails, it'll be something that you can complete and will enjoy.
The event format is simple — everyone starts at 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, and the goal is to see who can complete the most laps of the course in six hours before the race ends at 9 that night.
